About Bodhgaya Tour Package

Bodhgaya or Bodh Gaya is a city in Gaya district in the Indian state of Bihar. It is famous for being the place of Buddha's attainment of Enlightenment.Bodhgaya is one of the spiritual places in India where the historical Buddha became enlightened some 2500 years ago. Presently, it is a holy place for the Buddhists as well as for the Hindus. Here, under the Bodhi Tree, Gautama has gained supreme knowledge to become Budhha, the 'Enlighted One'.

Historically, it was known as the Bodhimanda (ground round the Bodhi-tree), and there was a large monastic settlement there. The main monastery of Bodhgaya used to be called the Bodhimanda-vihara (Pali). Now it is called the Mahabodhi Temple.

For Buddhists, Bodh Gaya is the most important of the main four pilgrimage sites related to the life of Gautama Buddha, the other three being Kushinagar, Lumbini, and Sarnath. In 2002, Mahabodhi Temple, located in Bodh Gaya, became a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

With the popularity of Buddhism culture to various parts of the world, Bodh gaya is famed as a Buddhist shrine spread far and wide. One can visit thousands of Buddhist pilgrims ranging from China, Myanmar, Tibet, Thailand, Japan and other countries.

It is the holiest place for the Buddhist and an incredible part of India's Buddhist where one will find Buddha sprawling temple, known as Mahabodhi Temple, a perfect idol of Buddha. It is spotted with high spire and the walls have carved or painted portraying various incidents from the life of the Buddha. Another thing in this city is quite most popular that is a museum which has bronze, gold and stone idols of Buddha.
