Amarnath Yatra 2020: Amarnath Yatra From June 23, Online Registration Will Be From April 1

(Amarnath Yatra 2020) The Amarnath Yatra is going on for 42 days from June 23. The yatra will conclude on 3 August. Jammu and Kashmir Governor and Shri Amarnath Shrine Board Chairman Girish Chandra Murmu gave this information on Friday. Last time, the Amarnath Yatra was 40 days, which has been extended to 42 days this time. In the year 2018, the doors were opened for 60 days.

On August 2 last year, pilgrims were called back from the Amarnath Yatra by issuing advisories, after which Article 370 was removed.

Bipul Pathak, Chief Executive Officer of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board told that the time of Amarnath Yatra has been ensured by looking at the auspicious watches. According to the Hindu calendar, it will begin with the Jagannath Yatra on June 23, 2020, while on August 3, Raksha Bandhan (Shravan Purnima) will be the last day of the yatra.

The registration of Amarnath Yatra to be held this year will begin from April 1. In view of the decrease in the number of passengers registering online compared to last year, the authorities have decided to increase the online registration quota.

Children below the age of 13 years and those above 75 years of age will not be registered for travel. Board spokesperson said that they are also paying attention to keeping the travel route and the camp plastic free.

In the 37th meeting of the board, a final decision was taken regarding the dates of Baba Barfani's darshan. Earlier in January, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Secretary BVR Subrahmanyam had also spoken of supporting the board in view of the pilgrimage to the police department.
